Updates and Roadmap

Updates:

8-24-05  -  Added 1951, 1952 and 1968 Yearbooks to the website.  Upgrade Cost:  Donation, Millie Compton

5-17-05  -  Added Blog to message board.  Upgrade Cost:  $75

5-05-05  - Added Gallery section to the message board.  This allows users to upload family photos and share them with friends.  Upgrade Cost:  $100

4-27-05 - Created a Sports History section to highlight the top teams and players in school history.

4-22-05 - The new "Look".  A professional programmer redesigned the graphics on the website.  Upgrade Cost: $200
4-16-05 - Complete 1956 Yearbook added to website.  Upgrade Cost: Donation, scanned and sent by Ted & Chris Coleman

4-12-05 - News Scroller added to front page.  Constant rotation of sports news, school happenings, and a message board Post of the Week.

2-19-05 - Installed Chat Room on the Phelps Message board to allow Scheduled Live Chat Events.  Upgrade Cost: $150, $10 a month.

12-27-04 - Yearbooks from 69, 70, 71, 73, and 74 added to website.  Upgrade Cost:  Donation, scanned and sent by Jeff and Ted Coleman

9-10-04 - Purchased 5 missing yearbooks from the High School archives.  Upgrade Cost:  $125

8-01-04 - Message Board created to allow Alumni to communicate with one another without paying crazy fees.  It was also created to allow alumni to create and plan Class Reunions. Upgrade Cost: $150

7-31-04 - Secured a host for the Phelps High School website.  Cost: $10 a month

07-31-04 - Website created and goes online.  It took me about 2 weeks to scan the yearbooks and program the code.  I had 15 Yearbooks in my own collection allowing for a great start.

Roadmap:

Late 2005  -  Upgrade Message Board software to make it more user friendly for first time users.

Late 2005  -  Continue updating the sports section with completed personal and team profiles.

Early 2006 - I hope to have a large group of submissions for our "In Memoriam" section.  I'll put up a submission form soon, but hope to create the section in mid-2006.  Family members will soon be able to fill out a form on former classmates who have passed away, it will allow them to include any information they want about our old friends.  I will include their yearbook photo on their page, and one(1) picture of choice that the family would like to submit.  Submissions will only be allowed by direct family members to ensure the proper respect is paid to our former friends.  I will contact the families via phone to verify every submission before I create their page.
