Phelps High School
For many years this was the gym for Phelps High School, until the McCoy Athletic Center was built and dedicated in 1976. Work began on this building in 1936 and was completed in 1939. The building in front of the gym was a temporary storage place for supplies. The roof of the Presbyterian manse is visible over the top of the storage building. A plaque on the front of the gym reads "WPA 1936." The gym is still in use today at Phelps Elementary, both for athletic and assembly purposes.
